The ArchestrA Bulk Import Utility

The ArchestrA Bulk Import Utility recently introduced by Wonderware is a tool that significantly reduces engineering time and effort by transforming tag definitions from an existing HMI application -- such as Wonderware's InTouch HMI, RSView, WinCC or iFix -- into an Industrial Application Server (IAS) object structure.

The tool is comprised of a Tag Import Wizard that brings in the tags and helps the user map them to the IAS object structure. The Tag import Wizard provides mapping for InTouch customers, which can also be used with other HMI applications that users want to migrate to the Industrial Application Server. These additional mappings can be created individually by system integrators (SIs), value added resellers (VARs), original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and Wonderware Sales Consultants. As they are created, they can be shared via the ArchestrA Community Website in the Downloads section.

The Bulk Import Utility also contains a filtering mechanism to aid in the creation and organization of the object by taking the raw tags and placing them in a structure. The utility then allows for the assignment of these structured tags to existing templates in the Wonderware Industrial Application Server.
